Vision ExamS

Eye exams are not just for people who need glasses. Patients as young as 4 should be tested for lazy eye or amblyopia. Patients over the age of 50 have a greater chance of developing eye issues such as glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and cataracts.

Our routine vision exam includes but is not limited to visual acuity, binocularity, eye muscle, and pupilary reaction testing, refraction for glasses prescription, evaluation of the front and back of the eye, and intraocular pressure measurement.

We have an ultra-widefield camera to better detect eye conditions and prove that your eyes are healthy. Self-pay patients get this included at our standard exam! Insurance patients can get it as a wellness test. Be sure to ask us about it!

We use a no-puff device that accurately checks eye pressure.

DiLation

A dilated exam may be indicated if a patient is suffering from flashing lights or floaters or uncontrolled hypertension.  Patients with type 1 or 2 diabetes may develop complications in their eye such as temporary blurry vision, cataracts, and bleeding of the retinal vessels.

Contact Lens Exam

Contact lenses can be used as an alternative to glasses and are great for people who play sports. Even if you are an allergy sufferer or have quit contacts due to dry eyes, there are contacts for you. We strive to fit the latest in technology for contacts. We have staff to teach you how to wear and care for your contacts if you've never worn contact lenses before. Patients who have lost focus at near, usually occurring over the age of 40, are recommended to try multifocal contact lenses.

We are a Preferred Acuvue Practice. That means you’ll always get trusted and up to date merchandise ordered directly from the source. You will also get great prices when factoring in your rebates and insurance allowances.

We can also fit gas permeable contact lenses. These are rigid lenses made of durable plastic that transmits oxygen. These lenses also are called GP lenses, rigid gas permeable lenses, RGP lenses and oxygen permeable lenses.

People who have a condition called keratoconus, where the cornea is cone-shaped and causes extreme visual distortion. People who need contact lenses after refractive surgery.

dry eye

Dry eye can be a chronic condition and may affect your quality of life and decrease your visual acuity. A sufficient tear film is necessary to keep the eye lubricated and for clarity.  Beside artificial tears, other treatments are available if you suffer from chronic dry eye.

Red / Pink eye

Red eyes and pink eyes can come from a variety of sources, and may even be contagious. It is important that an eye doctor manage and properly treat the problem before it can get worse. If you are wearing contacts and have a red eye, stop wearing contacts immediately and seek your eye doctor.

Glaucoma

Testing for glaucoma is part of our routine exam. Glaucoma is a disease that damages the optic nerve and causes loss of vision. If there is a suspicion of glaucoma, you may be brought back for extra testing right in the office. We have more specialized testing to form a profile of your risk for glaucoma.

Frames fitting and dispensing

We carry a large selection of frames. Let our consultants expertly guide you to the right fit and style for your face. Our office offers different materials for thinner lenses depending on your prescription. We have anti-reflective coatings such as Crizal to prevent glare. Photochromic lenses such as Transitions® lenses can be added to give UV protection and prevent light-sensitivity. We have digital and free-form progressives for patients with near blur.

driver license renewal

We are enrolled with the DMV registry and can submit vision results online directly to the DMV. Patients whose results are entered into the Vision Registry can then renew their driver licenses online or by mail without visiting the DMV. Let us know you need to renew your license.
